Patterns of Hair Loss
The reasons for hair loss have been many although there has been extensive research on the subject, it's difficult to point out ‘a’ particular reason why most men and women suffer from hair loss!
While the male receding hairline has been largely popular, there are few who can recognize female baldness too. There has been a definite rise, in number of women suffering from hair loss of this type; almost 95 per cent of the total number of cases registered. This kind of hair loss may either amount to a deficiency of some sort or may also be genetic. Though because of the difference in life styles, baldness in women is not always observed; this may be either due to their hairstyles or the variety of diets that keep changing either due to pregnancy or due to weight reduction.
Although they don't have a definite receding hairline, it’s surely one that has to do with the thinning of hair. Generally it has been observed that this happens in the crown area of the head, a little beyond the forehead and towards the back of the skull.
Although it’s not known what is pivotal in hair loss for women, its understood generally, that the growth hormone present in both men and women alike, the research for the existence of such a hormone is still on. There have been various companies that promote the sale of HGH or human growth hormone, but as mentioned earlier, its still in its initial stages of research.
Types of Hair loss
Hair loss patterns in women are quite different from the typical receding hairline loss in men. It’s often that the crown area is noticed whereas the top and sides of the head get effected most often. With the onset of Menopause and after pregnancies, you'll find women complaining that they are at the fear of growing bald. Although the pregnancy hair loss may be frightening, its assumed to be normal as for those months the hormonal imbalances make you feel as if this would possibly the end of your feminine beauty.
There are many therapies and many doctrines that help you get your hair back in place. These may range from hair replacement therapies or hair weaving methods. Although there is a very small section of women who actually go in for these treatments, its also known that most of the hair dyeing techniques and colors can make the hair weak and might prompt women to indulge in these.
There might be re-growth for a small number of women, but one can really never say why this occurs as in some cases, they might grow either in clusters or not grow at all!
Hair loss Myths
There are several myths and solutions to the types of hair loss that you might be suffering from. At most times, women don't understand the reasons behind this type of hair loss. It may be as simple as using the wrong shampoo or even going in for several high cost parlor treatments that involve a lot of chemicals that weaken the hair and thereby promote hair loss.
* Although there are several reasons for hair loss, it’s also known (although in rare cases) that these occur because of the appropriate chromosomes.
* Dryness or severe dandruff.
* Using strong shampoos, under the garb of a squeaky clean scalp.
* Backcombing or styles that allow the hair to look great but difficult to undo your hairstyle.
* Applying too much henna. Generally henna is great for coloring purposes, but few of the women realize that henna tends to dry your scalp. Application of henna without mixing a few oils and nutrients can weaken your hair from the roots. Dry gets brittle and you land up wondering why is it that you don't get your desired hair texture.
* Some people even go to the extent of having seasonal styles that involve a lot of coloring and dye of hair. Generally models face this problem a lot. Most of their time, they tend to be under the arc lights and constant spraying of hair stylers and hair sprays literally ruins their hair. Because of their anorexic figure, they do not have the time to even eat right, resulting to fatigue, hair loss, a richer bank account but poor health.
* If you though tying your hair tightly in the night before you go to sleep can help your hair grow well, then I must say that you thought wrong. A loose plait if you have long hair or just leaving your hair in the most comfortable hairstyle before you retire in the night can help the hair roots breathe.
* Brush your hair lightly to facilitate blood circulation, but don't over do it. Brushing of hair is only for giving you a good night's sleep and nothing else. If you thought fighting with your tresses in order to remove knots was the easiest to give you tangle free hair, then you thought wrong. There are many people I know who only comb their hair in the night. As far as possible avoid this. Comb your hair as gently as possible, try removing tangles with your fingers instead of vigorous brushing; after all it’s your crowning glory!
