Naomi Campbell Arrested

Campbell was charged with second-degree assault after allegedly hitting her housekeeper in the head with a telephone. The 41-year old victim claims the incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. on Thursday at Campbell’s home. After the incident the woman went to the hospital and received four stitches in her head. The police interviewed the woman who claimed Campbell attacked her. It was reported that Campbell became enraged when she could not find her favorite pair of jeans and accused the maid of stealing her clothes and then threw a cell phone at her head.

Campbell was taken to Midtown North Precinct where she was questioned and subsequently charged. David Breitbart, her lawyer, said, "When I left her at the station she was great, in a great frame of mind and thrilled at the way the NYPD had treated her." Campbell’s camp claims she is the one who is being victimized in this situation. Her mouthpiece J.R. Johnson said in a statement, "We believe this is a case of retaliation, because Naomi had fired her housekeeper earlier this morning. We are confident the courts will see it the same way."

It really wouldn’t be too hard to believe that Campbell lost her temper and threw a phone at her maid. It has been known to happen in the past. Campbell pleaded guilty to assault in 2000 after hitting her personal assistant Georgina Galani in the head with a telephone. Simone Craig, a former assistant, sued the supermodel claiming Campbell held her captive, threw her down on a couch, and threw a telephone at her. Hopefully Naomi and Russell Crowe never get into an argument!
