Former Friend Jennifer Aniston filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court a little more than two months after they announced their separation. Reportedly the court papers state irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Aniston legally changed her last name to Pitt after their 2000 marriage, and is now seeking to have her name changed back to Jennifer Joanna Aniston.

The two have a considerable amount of assets to divvy up between them. With combined assets of approximately $190 million, it could get ugly. Pitt reportedly rakes in about $17 million per film, while Aniston pulls in approximately $5 million. They have a $15.2 million mansion, a $5.7 million yacht, a ranch, and their film company, Plan B. So far, the split has reportedly been fairly amicable. Now that they are proceeding with the divorce it could go any which way.

Pitt and Aniston met in 1998 after being set up on a dinner date. They said "I do" on July 29, 2000 at a lavish ceremony in front of 200 family members, friends, and co-stars. They seemed like one of Hollywood’s super couples that would go the distance and they did last almost five-years, a virtual lifetime in La La Land. In a recent interview, Aniston said she has ignored the "tough and nasty" press coverage of their split and said, "There has been so much love and support. It feels real good." Pitt appears opposite Angelina Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith slated to open on June 10 and Aniston has an upcoming project ironically titled The Breakup.
