Handling Fragrances, the Right Way!

The worst part about going on a date is be like a skunk. Smell great on that special date of yours and you’re sure to win hands down.
Like your clothes, the fragrance you wear is also of great importance. When you wear loud colors and yet have this mystic smell about you, it definitely portrays that you are a person who loves attention and yet are not too demanding on that front. Softer hues and heavy perfumes belong to people who want to prove a point and yet be fashionable all the same. If you’re the kind who doesn’t know how to decide amongst the fragrances best suited for you, then I’d suggest you read on:

Whiffs of advise
* Firstly, don't settle for aftershave. Sure, it feels sexy, and may even have some scent to it, but it does not last long, nor is it strong. After a while the smell you emit may break or enhance your confidence.

* Hit the right spots.
The throat is a major spot to spray some of that cologne - body heat is closest to the surface and most likely to intensify the scent of the cologne. The back of the ears and the wrists are equally important.

* Spray with care. Be careful not to exceed three sprays of cologne. It proves to the woman that you are deliberately either trying to impress upon her or just cannot help but dab on more cologne, as you have a problem with your bodily sweat.

* Spray enough so that people know you're there, not so much that people know you're coming. An uncanny thing about spraying too much would mean that you want to attract more attention than you want to handle. A sure negative point on your special day!

* Reapply after long periods of time. If you applied cologne in the morning, reapply in mid-afternoon. This not only makes you refreshed, but also adds on to your confidence. Moreover, its attractive to be around a great smelling person when you are at your drowsy self.

Some additional Tips
A person's sense of smell is not as acute in the morning as it is later in the day - so when applying in the morning, splash carefully. This is so as for a long period of time in the morning, you are either engrossed in getting to the office or are in no mood really for impressing upon someone. The brain functions at a super fast pace and most of your thought process is eaten up by the stresses in the morning.

You’ll notice that once you’ve finished a sizable piece of work in the morning, you tend to feel a bit hungry and need a break. All energies are channelized in such way during the morning hours that your sense of smell is probably the last thing on your mind! Besides when the brain functions at a rapid pace, it eats into your body and you need constant breaks for re-vitalizing yourself. A splash of perfume during the afternoon time gets you back in the same rhythm that you began your day with.

The stronger the cologne, the less you apply. If you spray your clothes, do so sparingly. There are many people with sensitive skin who apply cologne or perfume to their clothes. A good thing about this is that it doesn’t come in direct contact with your body so the cologne lasts longer.

Additionally, since the skin is indirectly in touch with the fragrance, there are fewer signs of it getting absorbed rapidly, thereby leaving you fresher! Its always advisable that you use the best quality of cologne to avoid skin irritations, although each person has a different skin sensitivity, so the brands in this don’t really matter much!

Some colognes will come with body washes or powders. Using both in combination with cologne gives a more mellow scent. Not too strong, but strong enough for others who are nearby to smell – and not too overpowering either, especially to the one closest to you!
