The Clintons: Trimming Willy

Former President Bill Clinton was surprised to see that one of his personal friends had delivered a gift that carried some weight: a treadmill.
Sometime in the last few days, Bill and Hillary received a treadmill as a gift from a close friend and former major campaign donor. The "friend" is Vinod Gupta, the CEO of InfoUSA, a database company based in Omaha, Nebraska. Gupta had apparently noticed the rapidly expanding waistline of the former Commander in Chief and decided that it was time to take action. Gupta, or "Vin," as Bill calls him, donated over $1 million during Clinton's last campaign and stayed as a guest in the Lincoln bedroom during the Clinton presidency. In turn, Bill stayed over for a night in Omaha while on the campaign trail a few years ago. In a final show of devotion, Clinton appointed Gupta to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts just before leaving office.

Clinton's rep, Julia Payne, said Bill's hasty decision to return the treadmill had nothing to do with any hurt feelings or "unfit" implications that the gift may have brought. She explained that the Clintons already have a treadmill and that they did not want or need a new one. It seems that their current treadmill is serving as a drying rack for Hillary's New York Yankees uniform, or something like that. There's no doubt that Bill has some shaping up to do, maybe the new treadmill would have been the best place to start.
