Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake Call it Quits
It has been reported that Pop's reigning golden couple, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, have recently ended their three-year relationship. Rumor has it that there may be a pretty brunette involved. Timberlake was recently spotted at the Los Angeles hot spot, AD, dirty dancing with the unidentified woman. A witness was quoted as saying, "There's an upper level in the club and a lot of people were standing up there looking down at Justin in disbelief. He was on the dance floor freaking this girl, and they were dancing very close. If I was Britney and I saw what he was doing, I would have been extremely upset."
Other reports have stated that Ms. Spears has been seen partying with model Marcus Schenkenberg who apparently told a friend, "There's no hanky panky." There are some that are of the belief that Spears and Timberlake had a concocted romance. Some reports have said that Britney is Justin's beard and that he is really gay. Others have said that the friend's romance was contrived to protect Britney's affair with a gentleman some 20 or so years her senior. Whatever their relationship once was, it now seems that it is over. Reportedly Justin called the pop princess and broke up with her via phone before performing with his band, *NSync, in Tacoma, Washington.

The series was canceled just a year later, and Britney and Justin were reunited in 1998 when she was the opening act for *NSync. They made their romance public in September 200 at the MTV Video Music Awards and all reports had them going strong until recently. If there is any truth to the rumors, Miss Spears is devastated by the break-up. A source close to the couple was quoted in US Weekly, "They're taking a break. They tend to do that break up-to-make-up thing, but not this time. They're done."
