Star Jones Talks Surgery
Star Jones called into The View on Monday to talk to her co-hosts about her surgery and to set the record straight about any untrue rumors.

Jones told her cohorts Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck about her recent surgery and hospital stay. Jones first order of business was to assure her friends that one rumor in particular was untrue. Said Jones, "I did not almost die." Jones underwent elective surgery on March 17. As she told her co-hosts, "I had a boob lift. I thought it would be nice to call you guys this morning and keep you abreast of the situation." Jones has also admitted to getting the implants because she wanted "perky" breasts.
Jones says she needed the surgery after losing 150-pounds, but has not said anything about rumors that she also had a tummy tuck. It was rumored that during the operation there were complications that included internal bleeding and a "near" heart attack. Jones downplayed the events, but did admit that she needed a blood transfusion "due to complications." Jones said, "You guys know I’m anemic. We’ve talked about it on the show. I did need blood, (and) I was prepared."
Jones said she was okay after the transfusion. She said, "Literally, I was fine right afterwards. I was completely awake while getting my blood." She was released from the hospital on March 21 and reportedly is set to return to work next week. Of her new look, Jones said, "Friday was my 44th birthday, but my boobs think they are still 20." She did not mention hubby Al Reynolds, who landed in a New York hospital on the same day as his wife’s surgery after taking a spill during a work out at a local gym. He reportedly received numerous stitches and was kept overnight for "observation."
