Politics and Hypocrisy : Hand in glove

Politics is one profession, where all you really need to have in terms of qualification is the knowledge of manipulation. And if you’ve already crossed your 40s you’re more than eligible to get into this stream.
The rise of Democracy
Many countries chose Democracy as their mantra for a successful state. The benefits at the time were simple really! Most countries had at some point of time been under some sort of tyrannical rule and the fact that there was this sudden splurge of freedom that every one was eligible for, was like promoting heaven on earth!

What the state could throw up in terms of added propositions for its citizens was a chance to contest it the most sought after seats from their respective parties. And like any age that experiences a lull before the start of another storm, most countries inevitably propagated, amongst other things certain ‘values’. Although these are seldom viewed as values, most politicians and senators seem to understand that the norms created by them are arms of qualifications that necessarily allow you to stand victorious amidst the plebian crowd.

Striking Similarities
What’s really striking about all these politicians is the fact that they are firstly the most striking of the lot. This is with regard to their wit and wisdom, that they seem to manipulate with, most of the time. Another feature is their growing attention to detail of any sort, ranging from knowledge of the tiniest country in the world to the most beautiful women in the world. Women tend to be their top agenda. There always is this sense of being in the lime light with a famous bevy of beauties! Moreover, they are regulars at the most important functions where the entertainment media is concerned. But what they all promise and preach to a large extent is the art of hypocrisy. This seems to loom large over their careers of holding positions of honour. Despite all promises, the seat of power has such a definite impact that almost everyone that is selected forgets what honesty is all about.

Political Manoeuvring:
There are similarities in all political leaders across the globe. This exists in most of them, especially if they are famous. Political Science as a subject taught in schools rarely focuses on such qualities. So what you really need to be infamously famous is a strong political motive, an uncouth fetish for power, a roving eyes for some of the most ‘beautiful things’ in this world and loads of hypocrisy. It’s not that this trait is inbuilt but by looking at the rate at which people change or are forced to change, most researchers feel that in the corridors of power, only the masters in hypocrisy survive.

The reason being, that on the whole, politics (as a subject) has been taken far too seriously for people to understand. And when people don’t understand we have a political leader to decipher the lingo for us to understand. And the normal human tendency tells us that when you’re overtly paid for a job that mostly requires manoeuvring, there’s a lot of scope for the devil to pick your ears and make you follow the glorious path of evil.

Though some of us do agree that not all leaders are bad, we would also in the same light agree that as evil begets evil, to get better leaders to unfurl their true colours, its important to enroll in a lessons of hypocrisy. So if you are in the midst of people who have done little to fulfill their ambitions in life but are popular amongst everyone else in society, you can be sure of looking at another possible leader in your midst!
