Rice Recipes
Ten Rice Recipes - Red Beans and Rice, Tropical Rice, Asian Rice, Spiced Up Rice, Fiesta Rice, Saffron Rice, Spanish Rice, Tomato-Basil Rice, French Onion Rice, and Vegetable Rice.
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Chopped Onions - 1 cup
3. Chopped Green Pepper - 1/2 cup
4. Crushed Garlic- 2 teaspoons
5. Soaked Red Kidney Beans - 1 1/2 cups
6. Water - 2 1/4 cups
7. Oregano or Curry leaves - 2 or 3 leaves
8. Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
9. Soya Sauce - as needed
10. Vegetable Oil - as needed.
11. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat a little Vegetable Oil in a frying pan, and add Onion, Pepper, and Garlic. Fry briefly over high heat until tender. Add the Kidney Beans, one cup of Water, Oregano or Curry leaves, Vinegar, Soya Sauce, and Salt. Bring to boil, and then simmer until done. Alongside boil the remaining 1 1/4 Water in a saucepan and cook Rice for about 10 minutes. When both Rice and Beans are cooked, mix and eat.
2. Tropical Rice
Ingredients :
1. Water - 1 1/2 cups
2. Rice - 1 cup
3. Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
4. Crushed Ginger - 2 teaspoons
5. Butter - 1 tablespoon
6. Mango Chutney - 2 tablespoons
7. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat the Water, Rice, Grated Coconut, Crushed Ginger, Butter, Salt, and Mango Chutney in a frying pan, and bring the mixture to boil. Then stir, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for around 20 minutes or until well-cooked.
3. Asian Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Water - 1 1/2 cups
3. Egg - 1
4. Peanut or Vegetable Oil - 1 tablespoon
5. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat the Peanut or Vegetable Oil in a saucepan. Break an egg in this and scramble for a few minutes until well-cooked. Add the 1 1/2 cups of Water, Salt, and 2 cups of Rice to this and stir. Cover and bring to boil. Then stir again, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until done. Then turn off the heat and let stand for a few minutes before serving.
4. Spiced Up Rice
Ingredients :
1. Hot Water - 2 1/2 cups
2. Rice - 2 cups
3. Roasted, Chopped Red Peppers - 2 tablespoons
4. Butter - 1 tablespoon
5. Soya Sauce - as needed
6. Salt - as needed
7. All Spice Powder - 2 teaspoons
Method :
Boil the Water in a saucepan, and add the Rice, Butter, Salt, All Spice Powder, and Soya Sauce. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer until the Rice is cooked. Add the Red Peppers and remove from heat. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
5. Fiesta Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Water - 1/2 cup
3. Tomato Juice - 2 cups
4. Salt - as needed
5. Soya Sauce - as needed
Method :
Boil the Tomato Juice in a saucepan, and then add the Water, Rice, Salt, and Soya Sauce and continue boiling. Then reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the Rice is cooked. Then remove from heat and let stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
6. Saffron Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Water - 1/2 cup
3. Vegetable Broth - 1 cup
4. Crushed Garlic - 2 teaspoons
5. Butter - 2 tablespoons
6. Saffron - 1/8 teaspoon
7. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat the Water, Vegetable Broth, Crushed Garlic, Butter, Rice, Saffron, and Salt in a saucepan and bring to boil. Then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the Rice is cooked. Then remove from heat, stir, cover, and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
7. Spanish Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Water - 1 cup
3. Salsa Sauce - a spicy sauce of tomatoes and onions and chili peppers - 1 cup
4. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat the Water, Rice, Salsa Sauce, and Salt in a saucepan and bring to boil. Then stir, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the Rice is cooked. Then remove from heat, stir, cover, and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
8. Tomato-Basil Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 1 cup
2. Water - 1 cup
3. Tomato Sauce - 2 cups
4. Chopped Basil Leaves - 1 tablespoon
5. Salt - as needed
Method :
Heat the Water, Rice, Tomato Sauce, Chopped Basil Leaves, and Salt in a saucepan and bring to boil. Then stir, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the Rice is cooked. Then turn off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
9. French Onion Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 1 cup
2. Water - 1 cup
3. Cream - 1/2 cup
4. Chopped Onions - 1 cup
5. Vegetable Broth - 1 cup
6. Butter - 2 tablespoons
7. Salt - as needed
8. Vegetable Oil - as needed
Method :
Heat the Vegetable Oil in a frying pan and fry the onions until they slightly brown. Then add the Water, Vegetable Broth, Cream, Rice, Butter, and Salt, and bring to boil. Then reduce heat, cover, and let simmer until the Rice is cooked. Turn off the heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Then pour the Rice into a baking dish, brush with butter, cover, and bake in over for 45 minutes. Remove, and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
10. Vegetable Rice
Ingredients :
1. Rice - 2 cups
2. Vegetable Broth - 2 cups
3. Water - 1/2 cup
4. Soya Sauce - 1 tablespoon
5. Butter - 1 tablespoon
6. All Spice Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
7. Chopped Tomatoes, Onions, Pepper, Garlic - 2 cups
8. Salt - as needed
9. Vegetable Oil - as needed
Method :
Fry the Chopped Vegetables in Vegetable Oil in a saucepan. Then add the Water, Vegetable Broth, Rice, Soya Sauce, All Spice Powder, Butter, and Salt and bring to boil. Then stir, cover, reduce heat, and simmer until the Rice is well-cooked. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
