Paula Abdul’s New Love
Paula Abdul has been spotted looking quite cozy with actor Tony Schiena, despite the fact that her rep says the two are "just friends."

Just a few weeks ago Abdul spilled her guts to Dr. Phil about how difficult it is to find true love, prompting Dr. Phil to set her up on ten blind dates. None of which worked out apparently. When asked about them Abdul reportedly retorted, "Let’s not talk about that." No matter… it seems as if she has her hands full with Schiena. The two have been spotted around Los Angeles holding hands and looking quite the couple. Schiena’s rep said the "friendship" began about a year ago after mutual friends introduced them. His rep explains the "affection" by saying South African born Schiena is "very warm. Holding hands is as normal as giving a good friend a kiss on the cheek." Yeah, just friends, ok...
In other Abdul news, the Straight Up singer has reportedly been blaming Simon Cowell for her erratic behavior. Abdul said in a recent interview, "He’s worse than ever. If they say, ‘Paula is going crazy, ‘ the reason is Simon is whispering things in my ear, like, ‘What’s the price of beans?’ Things that make no sense at all." Whatever the case, it has been reported that earlier this month American Idol producers were very close to firing Abdul. Supposedly due to her erratic behavior producers were looking to replace her with either Jessica Simpson or Britney Spears.
Allegedly, tensions were running high on the set and a source said, "Paula was being very difficult. (She was) crying all the time and arriving late for meetings." Reportedly, Abdul sought medical attention and was treated for "exhaustion and dehydration." Neither Spears nor Simpson met with Idol producers and the powers that be decided to stick with Abdul. An inside source said that that could change at any time. Abdul’s rep slams the rumor saying, "Paula is always a joy on the set and everyone loves her. If they were looking at Britney or Jessica, that’s news to me."
