Star Jones’ Surgical Scare

Jones’ camp confirmed Tuesday that she is currently recovering from the elective procedure that she had in Los Angeles last week. Brad Zeifman, her publicist, said, "Star is recovering wonderfully." There have also been reports that Jones underwent a tummy tuck to remove excess skin that she has since losing 150 pounds over the past few years. It has also been reported that the March 17th procedure caused complications that included internal bleeding and a "near" heart attack that led to Jones being rushed to Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

An eyewitness said, "Nurses saw her blood counts were dropping and she was going into shock. She was trembling and shaking uncontrollably. An ambulance was called and Star was rushed to Saint John’s ER where she began blood transfusions to save her life. She lost close to half her blood and was in serious danger of going into cardiac arrest." Jones was reportedly stable enough to be moved to a private clinic to recoup on Monday. Mr. Star Jones, Al Reynolds, reportedly ended up in the hospital on the same day as his wife of 16-months. Reynolds apparently fell while working out at a New York gym and was rushed to the hospital where he received stitches. Doctors kept him overnight for "observation."

Jones refuses to reveal how she lost the weight and went from a size 26 to a much smaller size 10. She did say once that the weight loss was helped by a "medical intervention." She also said, "I will not be the poster child for a particular method. Only your doctor can tell you what will work for you." Jones is currently a "Love Coach" for AOL’s Coaches site. The site offers advice on such things as wellness, love, and money.
