Better Than Me

This is a poem about liking your best friend because you know him so well, but you know that he'd never consider you in that way too, because the boy has a superiority complex!
You say that I'm not good enough,
yet you pay me the most attention,
you act as though you're better than me,
yet only I can keep up the conversation,

I make you laugh out loud,
as no other friend can do,
And I laugh at all your jokes,
because you're humor is witty too,

You tell me all your problems,
and your perfect girl is me,
only I just amn't the prettiest,
but still, I know I amn't ugly!

we share so many interests,
and I'm the only one who gets you,
We're on the same wave~length,
Only you think you've passed through,

Everyone else knows I like you,
They don't get why you don't care,
It's because you think you could do better,
To show you the truth is unfair,

So if you really believe I'm stupid,
And if you think all your slags are true,
then why do you walk behind with me,
why do you draw attention to me too?

I know that you're in love with the pretty girls,
I know that they like you too,
But just not in the way you do at all,
Only I feel that way about you.

So maybe if you opened your eyes,
Stopped thinking I'm not as good as you,
Because I’m the one who makes me laugh out loud,
And not one of the pretty girls do!
