Simpson’s Rule MTV

The six-episode series slated to air this summer will feature Ashlee Simpson, the 19-year old sister of pop star Jessica Simpson, on her trek to becoming a recording star. MTV executive VP Lois Curren said in a statement Monday, "Ashlee is talented and charismatic, and we are happy she is taking us along on her adventure in the music industry."

The show will feature Ashlee recording her first album, auditioning a band, and dumping a boyfriend. The things a normal 19-yar old might be up to. She said, "My series will show people all the hard work it takes to cut an album, and I’m excited for everyone to see this and live it up right along with me." Simpson continued, "I’m really proud of everything that I’ve accomplished and I can’t wait for the MTV audiences to see it for themselves!"

Why settle for one Simpson when you can have two? Older sister Jessica is currently enjoying the success of her and hubby Nick Lachey’s reality show. Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica chronicles the couples first two years as husband and wife. The elder Simpson has become a star in her own right if not for her ditzy blonde image. Jessica has garnered her own sitcom her own edible beauty line called Dessert. No doubt little sis is looking to expand her horizons. Maybe starring in her own reality show will help her out. Now we will see if Jessica is all looks and Ashlee is all brains. Then again maybe Ashlee is just as confused about chicken and tuna as her big sis!
