Christina Aguilera to Launch Clothing Line

It was reported that Christina Aguilera signed a multi-million dollar contract with a UK based company called Basic Box to use her name on their merchandise. That is pretty funny considering that earlier this month she reportedly deemed it "tacky" for celebrities to have their own clothing line and said she would never do it for fear that people would believe her singing career is over. Said Christina, "I just think it is so tacky. I have always thought that it’s one of those things that just makes people look like they don’t know what to do anymore."

So what does that mean now that she is launching her own line? Is her singing career over? Did she simply forget that she deemed it tacky? Or is it all about the money? Reportedly, Christina’s comments annoyed the people at Basic Box. A source said, "That’s a very strange thing to say when she’s got her own range coming out. It annoyed a lot of people who’ve been working really hard on the clothes. Dealing with Christina has been very difficult, but then she signed the contract."

Maybe she just was so wrapped up in her new engagement that she forgot having a clothing line was "tacky!" Aguilera, 23, recently announced her engagement to her music executive boyfriend, Jordan Bratman. Aguilera and Bratman, 26, have been dating for two years and he proposed to the Beautiful singer last month while vacationing. No wedding date has been announced.
