Johnny Depp Biography
Biography of stylish and versatile Hollywood actor Johnny Depp.

When Johnny was a child of about 7, John Sr. got a job as a Director of Public Works (at Miramar) and Depp family moved to Florida. Depp family kept shifting from one place to another quite often and Depp children (Debbie, Christie, Johnny and Danny) could hardly settle in their new environment. It was very hard for them to manage their study and also daily life. Johnny could never pay full attention towards the study and got attracted towards bad habits such as smoking, drinking, got involved in thefts and local fights a couple of times, and even started on drugs by the age of 12. Because of his behavior and bad habits, he was even suspended a couple of times from his school. His story of losing virginity at 13 has become very famous.
His first encounter with music was the time when he used to go to his uncle in Owensboro. Further, he received a guitar from his mother when he was in Florida after which he shut himself in his room and started learning guitar. Johnny lost his interest in studies and became more and more attracted towards rock-n-roll. He practiced for hours playing guitar and became a very good at it. Soon, his next aim was to join a rock group to quench his thirst of becoming a rock star. He visited a few rock groups and finally was selected in punksters 'The Flame' group, which performed in nightclubs (Johnny was paid about $25 a night). When Johnny was 15, his parents got divorced, giving Johnny yet another reason to be a negligent and a frustrated kid. Further when he was 16, Johnny dropped out of the school to give full-time and concentrate on his ongoing struggle of achieving success in music world. Johnny and his group did not stop here, they tried to use every possible opportunity to march ahead, and they changed their band name to 'The Kids'. The band soon decided to move to Los Angeles in search of good opportunities.
At 20, Johnny met make-up artist Anne Allison (five years elder to him) and they married in 1983. It was Anne who saw and recognized the potential acting talent in Johnny and suggested him to try acting when he (and the group The Kids) was still struggling to make his mark in music world. Johnny was auditioned for the movie 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' by Wes Craven and offered a role in the thriller. Johnny had no such attraction of acting, he wanted to continue in music, but his band 'The Kids' split up, as there was no chance of getting any success, leaving him with only option of continuing with acting. Johnny further received a couple of good acting assignments and to learn some more acting skills, enrolled his name in an acting school 'The Loft' (at Los Angeles) after getting divorced from Anne. Johnny had his own unique style of acting, which helped him in getting more acting roles for himself. For next couple of months, Johnny even worked in few TV serials and movies. Even when he was getting new roles, Johnny never turned his back to the music. Next, as he got a chance, Johnny joined a new rock band 'Rock City Angels'. But Johnny was never lucky to get a good break in his music career, once again was left with no work.
Even when he was unable to get a good break as a rock star, Johnny was lucky to get a role that helped him in gaining popularity as an actor. His role of Officer Tom Hanson in '21, Jump Street' was one of the most famous, which once again helped him in kick starting his acting career. He became very famous for the role he played was considered to be one of the hottest teen icons. For next couple of years, Johnny ran into many affairs and consistently gave a good performance in many movies, serials etc.
During 80's, Depp was on the hot list and became very famous for his performances in various TV shows and few successful movies. After getting divorced from his first wife Anne, Johnny had a string of romantic relations to a couple of actresses and models (actresses Jennifer Gray, Winona Ryder, supermodel Kate Moss and French actress and also a singer Venessa Paradis are famous names among them).
During 90's, Johnny entered most fascinating and successful chapter of his life. He worked in very successful movies like 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?', 'Nick of Time', 'Dead Man' and few more. During the same period, Johnny also got himself into matters like heavy drinking, drug addiction (this may be a rumor!!) and also got involved in fights with other people (The stories are also famous of his comeback from all these matters). Johnny also tried his hands in Direction and screenplay writing as well.
In late 90's, Johnny started getting interesting and different type of roles, which also suited and represented his stylish and versatile personality. Johnny fully concentrated on his acting career and whenever he got any role, whether it was of a Mafia, a psychic, comedian or any role, he tried to learn and understand every aspect of it, he met every person whose personality and real life story resembled with that of the role he got to represent that character effectively on the screen. 'Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas', 'The Source', 'The 9th Gate', 'The Astronaut's Wife', 'Sleepy Hollow', 'From Hell', 'The Man Who Cried', 'Before Night Falls', 'Chocolate', 'Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl' and 'Finding Neverland', are some of his movies which will be remembered for his work.
