Proud Parents Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thornton

Actor John Voight announced Monday at the annual Oscar nominees luncheon that daughter Angelina Jolie and her husband, Billy Bob Thornton, adopted a baby boy from Cambodia on Sunday. No name or vitals were given. This is the first child for the Oscar winning couple. Thornton has two sons and a daughter from previous marriages.

Jolie and Thornton met on the set of Pushing Tin when they portrayed a married couple. The two fell in love and were married less than a year later at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas; the bride was 24 and the groom 44. The bride and groom both wore jeans. This is Thornton’s fifth marriage and Jolie’s second. Thornton’s last wife, Pietra, filed for divorce and then filed a lawsuit claiming the actor is a "manic depressive who, when unmedicated, punched, head-butted, shoved, pushed, choked, and threatened to kill her." Thornton denied her claims and filed his own restraining order against her. Thornton was then seriously involved with actress Laura Dern until the time he and Jolie became an item. Jolie was briefly married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller of Trainspotting fame, and also romantically linked to actor Timothy Hutton.

Jolie was appointed United Nations Goodwill Ambassador last August, focusing worldwide attention on refugees. She became involved in the plight of the refugees while working on the film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider when she visited refugee camps in Sierra Leone and Cambodia. She is currently in Africa filming her latest film, Beyond Borders, which are about two humanitarian aid workers who meet and fall in love while visiting sites of disasters and war. Thornton can be seen in limited roles in two upcoming indie films, Waking Up in Reno and Behind the Badge.
