Gwyneth Paltrow Engaged

The couple met last summer at a Coldplay concert. Paltrow, 30, was invited backstage and the two ended up chatting. Martin, 25, left with Paltrow’s number. He "rang her" and asked if she wanted to meet. He has said, "We seem to get on." Seems he is right. Despite rumors circulating last month that they had broken up, the couple seem to be going strong and if you can believe the rumor mill, will be headed down the aisle sometime in the near future.

Martin said of their reported break-up, "I just ignore all the reports in the papers about me and Gwyneth, I really don’t see any of it. All I will say is that everything is fine, it’s cool." Gwyneth, who has in the past described herself as a "daddy’s girl," has said that few boyfriends measured up to her father. Martin, an honors graduate from London’s University College, has been described by friends as a "nice and genuine guy."

Other buzz surrounding the wedding is that director Steven Spielberg will be giving her away. Paltrow’s father, Bruce Paltrow, died of pneumonia last October. Paltrow decided to ask her godfather and close friend of her producer/director father. Sources say Spielberg was honored and accepted the request. This is Gwyneth’s third attempt at being engaged. She was briefly engaged to actor Donovan Leitch in the early 90’s and also engaged for 6-months to actor Brad Pitt in 96-97. Maybe the third time’s the charm and she will actually make it down the aisle. No word yet when or where the nuptials will take place.
