Rawk, chalk, Jayhawk!
Led by Drew Gooden, I believe the Kansas Jayhawks have what it takes to win the NCAA championship. Here's why.
As a high school senior, it's safe to say that the concept of March Madness currently applies to much more than just the NCAA tournament.
However, with that in mind, I would like to announce that I believe the Kansas Jayhawks will be cutting down the nets this year.
Led by Drew Gooden, I believe the Jayhawks have what it takes to win it all.
Furthermore, my selection is bolstered by the fact that my usually beloved Duke Blue Devils have proven to be lacking in some fundamental aspects of the game, such as free throw shooting, which has led to their abdicating the throne as my choice for the NCAAs best.
Growing up, I always looked forward to this time of year, because I had the opportunity to fill out my official NCAA bracket.
Since I've turned 18 however, and I am legally allowed to lose all of my money (or just spend it on utterly foolish things), I must admit that this concept has lost some of its appeal.
I've realized that the career opportunities in Bracketology are rather limited and thus have decided that I will likely pursue something in English or Journalism. (Although some may argue that the career opportunities in these fields are just as bleak.)
At any rate, in a few days the televised version of March Madness will commence.
I, along with thousands of other fans, will have both the honor and privilege of watching Alcorn St. and Siena battle for the chance to face a thrashing in the next round, at the hands of No. 1 Maryland. (If that's not must see TV, I don't know what is).
I'll do my best to keep a regular column relating to the madness. Best of luck to all in your local office pools, and greetings to all of you out there in Jayhawk land, you know who you are!
