Infiniti Propulsion 460 Driver Earn Top Marks
The testing companies loved it. The reviewers raved about it. Even the hard-to-please internet communities could barely find anything bad to say about it (though they tried!). But overall everyone agrees: the Infiniti Propulsion is one of the top new drivers in golf.
Judging by the reviews, the Infiniti Propulsion 460 is one of the hottest drivers on the market today.
This sleek-looking club with the titanium graphite head received one of the top scores (8.6 out of 10) in the most recent GolfTestUSA ratings, ranking among the best clubs of 2005 in distance, appearance, and overall feel.
It was also described as "one of the surprises of the year" by PGATOUR.com’s Golfweb testers, who went on to praise the Propulsion for it’s "lightness, ease of swing, solid feel at impact, trajectory and distance."
The club has caused a similar stir within Internet communities like GolfRewind, where the membership is raving about the club’s distance and overall feel. One site member comments, "I was amazed at how great this club felt…The ball really gets a lot of ball flight easily putting on an extra 30-35 yards."
If there’s any knock against the Infiniti Propulsion, or an area where the driver isn’t quite perfect, it’s that it lacks control -- at least according to the GolfTestUSA reviewers, whose scoring of 8.4 in the control category was still higher than most clubs even though it was the lowest score the club received in any one category.
Not all reviewers agree with GolfTestUSA on that point, however. The folks at RankMark call it a "high power instrument that produces consistent, long, and straight distance with very minimum effort required to swing it." They also claim it has the "largest effective hitting area" of any club.
On the topic of which level of golfer this club is best suited for, there seems to be a slight difference of opinion as well. While RankMark claims that the driver is ideal for low handicappers between 0 and 9, GolfTestUSA puts it in the category of 12 and over. To further confuse the issue, the community at GolfRewind recommends the club to golfers of any handicap.
Released in the summer of 2005, the Infiniti Propulsion 460 is clearly one of the most advanced drivers on the market today. Its shiny burgundy finish and thin beta titanium face make it, as About.com’s Brent Kelley describes, "a great-looking club that is likely to win over many golfers with its performance, too."
