Scott Stapp Avoids Prosecution

Stapp, 32, was arrested February 11 after he allegedly tried to board a plane while intoxicated. The incident occurred one day after his wedding to girlfriend former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat and while en route to their Hawaiian honeymoon. Stapp released a statement yesterday, "No charges have been filed by the L.A. district attorney’s office, and for that I am appreciative. We all make mistakes, and the day will come soon enough where you will no longer read of mine in the tabloids."

Stapp has vowed to try and straighten his life out. Lately he has been a permanent fixture in the tabloids and not for outstanding record sales. His personal life has been on display in the media and seems to be a better seller than his latest solo album. The former Creed frontman has had some major troubles of late. Besides the arrest the day after his wedding Stapp has been at the center of a sex tape controversy. Recently a homemade sex tape that features Stapp and southern rapper Kid Rock and four groupies engaging in some sex acts surfaced. Stapp claims the tape was stolen, others believe he leaked the tape to boost his lagging album sales.

Stapp has also been slapped with a lawsuit by a woman who claims she was one of the women in the video and she is seeking upwards of $15,000 in damages and a temporary restraining order barring the sale or distribution of the video. Stapp and Kid Rock did receive a temporary court order that prevents World Wide Red Light District, the company behind the release of the tape, from distributing the tape. Rock has called Stapp and "idiot" for losing the tape. Stapp maintains that the tape was stolen and that "someone" is out to get him and destroy his career. Ok, Scott!
