The Fading Flame Of Colors

I had to write a poem for a class I’m in... I hope ya like it!
Sitting watching the blue sky fade.
When the sun falls from the sky
To go and sleep elsewhere.
Letting the moon wake
and have its time,
up in the black empty space we call the night sky.
Waiting for those last few moments,
when the while sky is
swept with a flame of colors.
For a short and sudden time, before
it turns dull and gray.
And you start to hear all
the crickets creak and after a while
it starts to sound sort of like a song.
S l o w and steady.
Then fast and loud.
Making you look up into the sky
and believe in everything
you ever wanted to believe in.
Letting you dream of anything.
Those kinds of dreams
that are found in the spirals
of black and white smoke,
and in the cracks of the sidewalks.
And then before you realize it,
its the sun's turn again.
And the moon and stars
disappear into
a flame of colors.
