Growing up...and grown!

When I was just a little boy
I romped through woods, and played with toys...
my mom and dad were always there,
and I could go most anywhere!

Across the neighbors' yard I played
there was no reason to be afraid -
friends they were with Mom and Dad,
they knew that I was seldom bad...

Mike and Joe were my best friends
we built forts, and played pretend.
Made like we were being Dad
spanked our boys when they were bad!

Mom and Dad were really great -
someone I could NEVER hate!
Dad built houses, Mama cleaned,
both were great, and never mean!

I grew up so very well,
never was my home a hell;
I had never been abused;
never was my body used...

Went to college, then to work
never was my duty shirked.
Mom and Dad had taught me well,
never was my life a hell.

Other kids had other lives,
some were loved, and some despised.
Some did badly, others well;
some tho't life was just a hell!

All we say and all we do
touches us, and others too!
Even if you once were used,
you make sure you don't abuse!

Jesus saves, and helps, and heals -
I can testify He's real !
Go to Him if you need healing -
You'l find His love is most appealing!

I know a lot of folks whose lives have been changed by asking Jesus to "fix" them...He's fixed ME numerous times when I was "broken". Living in this world GUARANTEES we'll sometimes get hurt, and knowing Jesus is the best safeguard against being hurt I know of.
