The Carter Clan?

Take one part drama, add a dash of stolen money, two heaping tablespoons of assault & battery, a cup of messy custody battle, and add two famous sons. Sounds like the makings of a soap opera - only this soap opera is reality and centers around pop star Aaron Carter,16, and his headline grabbing family. Bob and Jane Carter are hoping to cash in on their famous sons and their dysfunctional family by turning their ongoing feud into a reality show.

As Jerry Seinfeld would say, "Who are these people?" Why would anyone with so much dirty laundry want it aired for the world to see? Sure Anna Nicole and the Osbournes did it, but the Carter clan seem to have a whole different set of problems. Just recently did little Aaron reconcile with his Mom after accusing her of stealing his money. Next up, Jane is arrested for assaulting her estranged hubby’s new girlfriend, Ginger Elrod. Oh yeah, and the new girlfriend will co-star in this fiasco. Not to mention past battery charges for patriarch Bob who was arrested in August of last year, big sis Bobbie Jean’s October 2002 arrest for punching a teenage girl, and don’t forget Backstreet Boys brother Nick’s arrest for resisting or opposing a law enforcement officer without violence.

The show, if all goes well with the negotiations, will begin filming in March. The show will feature Aaron, his parents, his three sisters, and Elrod and will follow their every day routine. Nick will make occasional appearances. Matriarch Jane says, "We’re going to take it day by day. I think this show and some therapy might be a good thing." Maybe she should focus on "some therapy."
