America shines in the Super Bowl, and so does it's Patriots!

I was not even alive when the 1969 Jets defeated the Colts, who were the favorites by 19 points. The stories on that Super Bowl are legendary.

The Jets were disrespected and were expected to be blown out. The Jets would shock the world with a stunning upset.

This year's Super Bowl was the biggest upset since "Broadway Joe Namath" and the Jets did it.

The Patriots were expected to be destroyed by half time. Most writers, like myself, did not even think the Patriots would even score 10 points.

The Patriots defined the word "team." On both sides of the ball they dictated and controlled the tempo of the game.

The Patriots defense hit and "stomped" every Ram receiver that came within eye distance. The defense should have been given the real "MVP" trophy!

Tom Brady would do fairly well, but did not totally impress me like some of the other players.

The Rams would never recover from an 11 deficit. They would tie it late in the game, but that tie would not last.

The American "theme" was very special to most of us, writers and fans. It was simply "outstanding!"

The game would end on a last second kick by Adam Vinatari. This kick would be perfect, just like the Patriots play on Sunday.

The Patriots would need to play an "A plus" game. They did. The Rams are the better team on paper, and have more talent than the Patriots. But, the Patriots could care less.

America enjoy your team, they are what football is all about! The Patriots have now officially earned my respect!
