Gossip; a woman’s favourite pass-time?!

A sneak and lively peek at a Woman's favourite pass-time. Did I tell you that a friend of mine dumped her guy for another (read as "richer") suitor…Oops! I’ve told you but please don’t tell her I did.
Did I tell you that a friend of mine dumped her guy for another (read as "richer") suitor…Oops! I’ve told you but please don’t tell her I did. Since times immemorial, women have been accused to being the largest gossipmongers across the globe, as my husband would put it, "an unavoidable domestic problem"!

I don’t know why but it’s perhaps within our psyche to gain knowledge and information and pass it on. I think were learn it from our mothers!! Don’t get me wrong, but generally the role of parents is almost always accurately drawn out. That, the father remains the provider, and the mother, the teacher! Although times have changed and we’ve had quite a working culture developed with men and women walking past and with each other in every field. But let’s not deviate from the topic. So why do men and women, (well some of the women for that matter!) take it for granted that women love gossip. It’s another thing then that glamour and gossip magazines flourish the world over. The reason – everyone loves a dash of gossip sprinkling through at regular intervals in life.

Women: Self-trained?

Women on the other hand learn it from their childhood, as mothers train their children to do the right things. What do I mean by "right", well that if you are a girl then you necessarily play with dolls and only boys are allowed to climb trees! Most children as children generally are, gape in awe when the mother puts on an act, while giving them an example of how so-and-so’s daughter fell of the branch and how all the boys in the neighbourhood laughed their guts out! And there starts the age of gossip. Well, at the time it sounded more like an example, but then it ultimately leads to stories galore! Though all of us might not necessarily want to be a part of the latest news, it sure does bring in a naughty glint in the eye, while eavesdropping the tale!

I am sure publication companies that bring out t glossies thrive on their share, which explains why millions of us would like to know as to what would now happen to JLo and her plans for climbing down the aisle. If women were accused to indulging in gossip, well men aren’t far behind, although they do if for a totally different purpose altogether; to spread the word and ultimately grab another woman’s attention. Though many of us wouldn’t appreciate to be in the company of those whose favourite pastime has been made so famous by writers across the universe, we sure do make it a point to grab the first mag that publishes these stories! Actually I would think it to be fun spreading these tales. Imagine coming out with a new story each time with an increasing audience every time I dig something new from my eternal closet of classic narratives.

The latest buzz

I don’t blame those who do, after all if its not harming anybody, then I should think it to be a perfectly good reason to muster up all details for spending a chatty afternoon? Imagine, all ears plucked up on the latest boyfriend Martha was carrying on, or the latest on Mrs Wood’s exceptionally exorbitant diamond necklace, or the not-so-recent Tom Cruise break up. The oldies are especially fu to be with as it these who relish the most!

Hey! Heard the latest, I think finally condoms are going to be a lot cheaper, only because there’s been a research about the connection of a healthy sex life and a healthy heart….Oops, don’t tell them I told you so! I don’t want to propagate anything!
