Living with a handicap

A depiction of what humans tend to overlook in life! Imagine if you had to write and understand, while making a mental note of everything you jot down?! Sounds impossible!
Imagine if you had to write and understand, while making a mental note of everything you jot down?! Sounds impossible! For some this is life, coz noting down details from one’s mind’s eye would mean that they recognize just one colour….black!! Black, as known to you and me! While God imparted certain wonderful qualities to some, he left some unknown hidden talents for us to discover. A stuttering impediment for one and a super brain for another! They are all hidden somewhere across this Universe for our reflection of life.

Walking a different walk

It’s quite common, or rather "human" to crib about things we don’t necessarily desire, but want those all the same. Through life’s impeccable creations, I have discovered that life is beautiful. I reflect on these many a times and I see those million smiles that speak volumes without uttering a single word. It’s on occasions like these that I stoop with amazement what the

Almighty wishes to whisper.

There are many who seek to run along with the same pace like you and I, but who have to necessarily slacken their speed, thanks to their gift from nature. When a child somewhere complains and screeches his/her sob story, there is some one out there beyond those green pastures who’s dying to babble his first syllable. I remember the first step a man once took while trying desperately hard after several attempts, only to lift his walking stick. It’s easy for us to bend and whoop out in a jiffy, ever thought about those for whom this is a dreaded ordeal to be faced day in and day out. It’s so easy to lend out a helping hand and yet so difficult to make the person believe that I was only trying to help, not demean you!

Life goes on

For some life doesn’t stop, it only slows you down! After seeing the world through the eyes of my mother, I tried telling my friend while opening the door my little piece of knowledge. He only smiled and told me, "You know what I’ll reminisce about life and its wonders when I am old, after all 50 is no time to retire, " and he briskly twisted and turned his already marred body while supporting himself every step, with the pillars in the church. His spastic body seemed to have seen all the remorse any soul could in this life. It’s difficult to deal one’s life with the gift of being "challenged", more so when you keep fighting a losing battle against nature. With one brisk hand of the wheel chair you may fight the special race, but it’s truly a miracle to get back to stand on the podium and speak about it.

When you peck at someone’s ear with the most unsympathetic words or steal a few moments cursing the situation, while you were supposedly hurt, lets stop for a moment’s ponder to realize their forced way of life. Would you ever want to live each day by dying? Come what may, there are certain things when you cannot control your mind, what would you do when it became a part of your psyche?!

Throughout life’s humdrum moments, there were times, (I am sure this may be the case with you too sometimes!) where life never really felt worth living, it was these destined moments of truth when I saw a crutch or a moving remote control, that I raised my hands to the Lord above, of giving us so much more than we could possibly understand. Its easy to say that you do, but for how long? If you and I had to practice that every single day, we’d give up even before we walked our next step….Food for thought!! I’ll say!
