Matthew Perry’s Rehab Woes

Matthew Perry has reportedly succumbed to his old ways and has been battling his alcohol and drug demons again.
Maybe with his future uncertain with the upcoming finale of his hit show, Matthew Perry has turned to his old habits. His peers have offered the never-ending support to help him through this latest battle. An insider says, "Matt hit the bottle when uncertainties, especially the end of Friends, arose in his life…everyone was shocked that Matt has slipped again. His relapse has brought tears and true compassion from everyone. They know he’s at a very vulnerable time in his life and they have made a pact that at least one of them will always be on call for him."

Perry said, "I was a year and nine months sober when I just stopped doing the things I needed to do. I was over-confident and thought everything was under control. Next thing you know I had a margarita in my hand and I was buying some dope." Perry’s battles with drugs and alcohol have been well publicized over the past few years. He has suffered through acute pancreas issues brought on by years of drinking and drugging and has been through rehab a number of times for his addictions to painkillers. In February 2001, he checked himself into rehab, reportedly for a dependence on Vicodin, Methadone and speed.

His latest battle may be caused by the uncertainty of his future, but at least he recognized what was going on and has asked for help. Hopefully with the love and support of his family and friends he can kick these habits once and for all.
