Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes’ Love Farce?

A source close to the couple confirmed the split and said that Holmes is miserable. After the break-up rumors hit Cruise and Holmes made it a point to be seen together looking like the loving couple they say they are. Holmes attended a memorial service in Australia with Cruise even though she hadn’t planned to and her doctors advised against a long flight at this stage of her pregnancy. Cruise’s rep denies that the relationship is over and said they are "moving forward with their wedding plans."

During their time in Australia it is reported that they acted like a couple while the cameras were on them, but once the cameras weren’t around they appeared miserable. Their behavior was even compared to a "performance." Said an eyewitness, "Tom had a fake smile on his face and Katie looked pissed off. Then she saw the cameras and was all smiles. It looked posed, like ‘The Tom Show’ was on."

A friend of Holmes’ claims that she has begun to be annoyed with Cruise’s constant need to "keep up his image." Said the friend, "Katie knows the relationship isn’t going to work and she doesn’t like being a part of a huge PR campaign." But hasn’t their entire relationship been a PR campaign? It always seemed as if they were acting like a couple rather than truly being in love. Who knows…maybe they are as happy as can be! Whether or not the relationship is working out for them, it has been reported that Holmes is really getting into Scientology. She has reportedly been spending at least three hours a day studying the controversial religion.
