Life Is Like That – The Loneliness In Togetherness

Shake up is more soothing at times than simplistic sharing of same feelings. Well, makes no sense and of no end. Did not either; at my end…
I walked lonely in the company of my grief
Lost and dwelling deep into the feelings within
Pacing slowly down the walkers lane
There joined my friend who lived at the other end.

As we walked along, I silently
Lips compressed and heart depressed.
He tried keeping pace with my walk and heart beat
All the while trying to break the tear frozen ice

Some strange reasons I decided to pour out
Thinking it may help me out.
He listened and heard me
All in silence save a few words to reassure.

At end and between he did say a few things
"I empathize, I can feel, I understand"
I could even catch a glimpse of his misty eyes
That he managed best from me to conceal.

I instantly felt better and even nice
Experiencing the fullness in emptying
As we continued in our walk and talk
Which got slower by the intensity of the exchange.

Yet suddenly I felt disconnected and low
In spite of the of the fellow feelings flow
Somewhere I felt most awkward
And sometimes and at places angry too.

May be I expected him to reflect and respond
Explore and empathize my issues from the other side
That would have brought forth some difference
Rather than being yet another voice within like my echo.

I felt like turning around and bid him good bye
And be left alone in the company of my grief
I needed at that moment someone who will wipe
Rather than pour out his tear droplets and weep.

Shake up is more soothing at times
Than simplistic sharing of same feelings
Makes no sense and of no end
Did not either; at my end.
