Bug Lays England Quartet Low

Cricket: Simon Jones and England's three spinners are ill ahead of the warm-up match against an Indian board President's XI.
England face a selection dilemma for tomorrow's second warm-up match against an Indian board President's XI, with four players suffering from a stomach bug.

All three spinners - Shaun Udal, Ian Blackwell and Monty Panesar - are ill, along with fast bowler Simon Jones. It was hoped the three-day contest in Baroda would go a long way to deciding which of the slow bowlers should feature in next week's opening Test, while Jones is looking to up his workload after ankle surgery.

An England team spokesman said: "We will have to reassess the situation after today's practice session and we will name our team tomorrow morning."

To make matters worse, all-rounder Paul Collingwood is almost certainly ruled out with a back injury.
