NBA: Davis dominates with Raptors

While in Indiana he was always confused with Dale Davis because both have have similar styles. Now that they've both moved on, they've started making names for themselves.
While in Indiana he was always confused with Dale Davis because both have similar styles. Now that they've both moved on, they've started making names for themselves. When in Indiana Antonio Davis always was known as a physical rebounder and a player that couldn't score. When Indiana traded Davis for the rights to Jonathen Bender, he didn’t look back like other players would when they are traded. And last year when the Pacers played the Lakers in the Finals, Davis had to be laughing to himself because of the size that the Pacers were missing.

This year he has broke out and has finally been able to score on a consistent basis. That has led to a double-double almost every night for Davis, and that also earned him an All-Star appearance. In the All-Star game he didn’t shy away on offense and scored some points for the Eastern All Stars.

With everyone focusing on Vince Carter, Davis has been able to take a little bit of the attention away from Carter. Another key factor in Davis’s play this year than last year, is that he was reunited with former Pacers point guard Mark Jackson.

The key to success for the Raptors in the playoffs will rest on the shoulders of Davis’s ability to control the other teams big man. That shouldn’t be a problem for Davis because he has done it all season long. With veteran Mark Jackson teamed up with All-Stars Antonio Davis and Vince Carter, who knows what’ll happen. Because of the weakness in the East the Raptors have a great shot at taking the East.
