Nick Lachey Seeks Spousal Support

Lachey, 32, is requesting support even though Simpson, 25, filed divorce papers on December 16 requesting that Lachey not receive alimony. In the papers, Lachey cites "irreconcilable differences" as reason for the divorce. Lachey is also seeking "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects and wants to keep all his earnings he earned since the split. Originally it was reported that Lachey wanted an amicable divorce, but now it seems that he is paying hardball and looking for a huge pay out.

An interesting tidbit about each set of divorce papers is that there is a discrepancy as to when the separation actually occurred. Simpson claims the couple separated on November 23 and Lachey says it was December 13. In between those two dates Simpson earned a reported $850,000 for doing a private concert. If the separation occurred on December 13, Lachey is entitled to half that money under California law. It was reported that a source said Lachey was hoping for a reconciliation and that is why the separation date is different.

Despite gearing up for what could quite possibly turn into a huge battle played out in the media it seems as if he has not had a problem moving on. He has reportedly been spotted hanging out on different occasions with a number of different Jessica Simpson look-a-likes despite the fact that he is allegedly dating Lizzie Arnold, a former Miss Kentucky. Simpson has been romantically linked with Adam Levine and Jude Law and it is rumored that she is the most sought after women in Hollywood at the moment. Don’t hold your breath for a reconciliation!
