Rain

The rain falls down soothing me
It washes away some of the pain
My tears mingle and mix with the rain
The blood runs slowly off my clothes

My thoughts are mixed and jumbled
I let the knife fall to the ground
Someone screams in the distance
The ambulance can be heard coming

The police are pushing people back
I just stand there in the soothing rain
Some stranger is talking to me
All I do is turn and run from the pain

I run for miles in the pouring rain
Everywhere I turn there is pain
People crying over broken hearts
Someone has died mourners everywhere

I’m a mourner drenched in my pain
Just like I’m drenched in the rain
The blood has stained my clothes
It’s stuck to my body of pain

How can anyone live in a run down town?
Where everywhere there is pain after pain
Let the rain fall let it cleanse this tiny town
Cleanse it from the pain that covers us all

This town is covered in a shadow of darkness
The sun can’t penetrate the wall of sadness
There is no beauty unless sadness is beauty
Let the rain fall and cleanse us all

Let us be free let me be of all this sadness
Let the sun break through the pain barrier
Let is warm us all to the very heart
Let the rain fall let is wash away the pain

I’m know on the edge of town again
Staring out at the world in wonder
How can anyone be happy if we’re not?
How can the world be beautiful out there?

Let the rain fall and bring the sun to warm us all
Let it bring a world of happiness to us here
I will stay to the end to fight this pain
I will wait for the sun to reach us and end sadness
