Shilajit is considered to be one of the most useful herbs, which can be used in treatment of almost any disease/ailment...
Shilajit, which is also known as Mineral Pitch, is one of the best and most widely used herbs in Ayurveda. It is known for its effectiveness in almost all type of health complaints. This mineral pitch is obtained during summer from the rocks in lower region of Himalaya Mountains.
Shilajit is considered to be an organic product (a kind of gum resin) formed after decomposition of various plants and vegetable substances, which were trapped and crushed under high pressure during the formation of Himalaya mountain ranges. Shilajit is highly rich in various basic minerals and organic substances, one such substance is Benzoic acid (which is one of the basic building blocks of living systems).
Shilajit is considered to have power to rejuvenate almost any cell of human body and fill it with energy. Shilajit works on the cell level and help them in filling out the wear and tear. Shilajit is useful in treatment of the condition where the patient is undergoing general weakness (i.e. debility) and fatigue; it works as a tonic and helps in bringing energy level back to normal.
Shilajit contains chemicals, which in combination with other herbs work as an antiseptic and disinfectant and helps in removing several type of germs and parasites. This combination is diuretic and lithotripter in nature and very useful in complaints of intestinal infections. It is also highly effective in the conditions such as diarrhea, parasites or worm infections, problems related to digestive system, and jaundice etc.
Shilajit helps in fighting conditions such as diabetes (it helps in bringing down the sugar level in blood and keeps check on it), dyspepsia, kidney stones and gallstones. It also helps in treatment of nervous system related complaints such as neurasthenia, epilepsy, stress, nervous depressions and mental disturbances etc and helps in calming down the nervous system. The combination of Shilajit and Jatamansi is used to treat nervous system related above problems.
Shilajit is well known for its use in treatment of reproductive system related complaints for both, men and women. It's combination with Ashwagandha helps in rejuvenating the reproductive system, minimizes the debility/weakness in the sexual organs and helps in improving elongated sensual experience. Shilajit can help in treatment of problems related to menstrual cycle in women. Shilajit is also used to prepare various herbal oil preparations, which are used to massage the sexual organs, which helps in increase in sexual power.
Patients suffering from skin diseases, respiratory problems (such as asthma), any type of bronchitis (acute or chronic), anemia, Hemorrhagic conditions, Menorrhagia, and arthritis etc may also benefit from Shilajit (for the treatment of these problems, Shilajit is mixed with herbs like amalaki, ashwagandha etc.).
Please Note: Even when it is sure that the herbs do not show any side effects, our body has some limitations and everyone’s body responds to various chemicals and substances in number of ways. Please do consult your physician before you begin use of any herb.
