Nicole Richie’s Simple Engagement To Adam Goldstein

Cindy Guagenti, Richie’s publicist, announced Tuesday that Richie and Goldstein had become engaged, but no date has been set for the wedding. Richie and Goldstein, a disk jockey who goes by the moniker DJ AM, have been an item for one year and the two recently bought a Hollywood Hills home together. Richie, the 23-year old adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie, is best known for co-starring on The Simple Life with her best friend Paris Hilton. She is now trying to find her way in the music biz and is in the process of putting together her own debut album.

Goldstein has made a name for himself on the Los Angeles scene. He has recently provided music for a Bongo Jeans television commercial starring his future bride, an inaugural gala in Washington D.C., and a Simple Life wrap party. Richie and Hilton are currently starring in The Simple Life 3: Interns, wreaking havoc on the corporate world after two seasons of torturing small town America.

It has been rumored that this season of The Simple Life, currently airing on Fox, will be the last. It has been said that Hilton wants to do her own thing and not do anymore shows with Richie. Hilton reportedly said, "I can carry my own show." Not so, says Hilton’s camp. A spokesman for the heiress said, "That’s completely not true. That would be like Lucy and Ethel splitting up." Paris and Nicole as the new Lucy and Ethel? That’s a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?
