Internet: Ocean of Bits and Bytes
Internet is like an ocean full of bits and bytes and a place where a web designer like me likes to surf all night long. Many comparisions done, interesting read all along.
Being a web designer, most of the times I stay online. Most of the time, digitized!
If not working on some frantic last hour mails and calls, I prefer to sail in my browser window on different tides that some call websites. My swimsuit? Of course keyboard and mouse. My Oxygen? The "Back" button on the browser window which in case of a wrong judgment, can put me back breathing safe and sound.
As I sail my mast and enter the ocean of bits and bytes, many a times I discover the most marvelous of lands [ http://www.netdiver.net ], [ http://www.zeldman.com ] and most unusual of hideouts [ http://www.idea-a-day.com ]. There are notorious and poisonous snakes [ porn sites ] out there, but also there are "at your service" dolphins [ http://www.google.com ] that show the way, if I get lost.
The more I navigate, the more I start to interact. Sailors salute from a chat window and disappear [ log out ] in the haze of night. Many leave valuable lessons in the forums and mailbox, and all the while that I steer myself into more treacherous and deeper depths, I still have my ‘Pole Star’ [ again the "Back" button ] to guide my directions way back.
As I bring home my boat full of catch, handful of shells embed with priceless pearls [ design awards ] and glory of foregone lives, I truly look forward to a new journey in the domain of this digital water world. Like each drop that makes the ocean but none of which can own it’s right, my small little article too will help build the Internet into a colossal ocean of bits and bytes.
