Stapp married girlfriend Jaclyn Nesheiwat in Miami Friday and was promptly arrested the following night on the way to his honeymoon. Stapp was taken into custody after police responded to a disturbance call around 6 p.m. Airline personnel refused to let Stapp board a flight to Hawaii at Los Angeles International Airport after he was suspected of being drunk. Reportedly Stapp was said to be "antagonistic" and "boisterous." The singer was taken to the Van Nuys station for processing and reportedly demanded a blood-alcohol test registering a 0.18 – twice the legal limit. Great way to start off the marriage.
Stapp, 32, and Nesheiwat, 25, tied the knot at the Vizcaya Museum and Garden’s, a European-inspired estate at Biscayne Bay in Miami. The former Miss New York wore a Vera Wang dress and walked down a 65-foot aisle covered in rose petals. This is Nesheiwat’s first marriage and the second for Stapp who was married to Hillaree Burns for 16 months. They divorced in 1999 and Stapp has sole custody of their son, Jagger, who served as best man at his wedding to Nesheiwat.
Stapp has battled alcohol problems in the past. It has been reported that Stapp’s drug and alcohol problems were behind the demise of Creed. He also was involved in a bar fight with members of 311. Allegedly, Stapp was intoxicated and made a "disrespectful and crude remark" to a band mate’s wife and "sucker-punched" drummer Chad Sexton. Stapp reportedly said in an interview that he sought rehab after the fight. He also has talked of almost killing himself after Creed’s "Weathered" tour in 2003 because he was so "disgusted" by his alcohol and pill habit.
