Ally McBeal Star’s Lesbian Wedding?

It was reported by London’s Daily Star that Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi married girlfriend, Francesca Gregorini, in a secret lesbian wedding – an allegation denied by de Rossi’s camp. It was reported that de Rossi and Gregorini, Ringo Starr’s stepdaughter, exchanged vows at de Rossi’s 29th birthday party last week. Heidi Schaefer, de Rossi’s publicist, told PAGE SIX.com, "There was no ceremony. There was a cake, Portia blew out the candles. [Gregorini] was there, but there was no marriage." When asked if de Rossi and Gregorini were lovers, Schaefer said, "They are friends, yes."

It has been reported that de Rossi, who plays Nelle Porter on Ally McBeal, and Gregorini, a singer, have been dating for six months. Last November, pictures of the pair engaged in a passionate kiss were shown in supermarket tabloids, but were basically ignored by the "mainstream press." De Rossi, whose real name is Mandy Rogers, has been compared to Rosie O’Donnell when it comes to their non-committal sexuality. In 1994, she was linked to Hugh Grant, her then co-star in the movie Sirens. It has been reported that Grant’s response to their supposed coupling was, "Do you understand how funny that is?"

Gregorini, 33, is the openly gay daughter of Ringo Starr’s wife, Barbara Bach. She is a singer and owns a home in Hollywood, but has been reportedly staying at de Rossi’s home on a regular basis. De Rossi, a regular on Ally McBeal, has also been a spokesmodel for L’Oreal. She has been described as the opposite of Ellen DeGeneres in the fact that she has been called a "lipstick lesbian."
