Kites: Kite Flying...Enticing to the Avid Kite Enthusiasts

If you are an avid kite enthusiast or simply interested in learning more about this educational hobby, the Web is the first step.
There are few of us out there that do not have some childhood memories of trying to entice a hastily constructed combination of featherweight materials to dance amongst the clouds. As with everything else it seems, most of us really had no idea what we were trying to do with our kite or why we seemed to alternately fail and succeed on successive tries in identical conditions. The information that we lacked was probably not available with the assembly instructions to our stringed flyers, instead it appears to have been right here on the Web the entire time! All kidding aside, the amount of information available on the Internet for any level of kite enthusiast is something to behold and, hopefully, learn from.

As with most every other hobby or recreational activity found on the Web, the information available on kites, kite flying, kite construction, and competitions is extensive. There is information about the important uses of the kite throughout history, its significance in scientific research and data gathering, and newsletters and message forums where enthusiasts can share ideas and stories. Sites offer information about kite aerial photography and other, lesser-known aspects of kite flying that may prove enticing to the casual kite flyer.

Moving through the online kite resources, it is clear almost immediately that kites offer much more than the fleeting thrill of seeing them soar amid a cool summer evening’s breeze.
