Mötley Crüe Reunites
Mötley Crüe, the hard rocking 80s band, announced a reunion tour Monday in typical Crüe style at Hollywood’s Palladium.
Vocalist Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee, bass player Nikki Sixx, and guitarist Mick Mars arrived at the Palladium via a hearse and announced plans for their Red, White, & Crüe world tour. The Crüe also announced the February 1 release of their new double disc greatest hits collection also titled Red, White, & Crüe and debuted a new single at the press conference. They then proceeded to rock out for the lucky fans that scored tickets to the secret post-press conference show. Neil proclaimed, "We’re still Mötley, we still rock!"
Despite a rift between the band, Neil said, "It’s like no time has passed at all." Tommy Lee said that the fans inspired them to reunite. "This one is for the fans," he said. "What’s important right now is that the fans want this." The band did admit that promoters first suggested the reunion. The tour will begin February 17 in Ft. Lauderdale
And will take the band to five different continents by the end of 2005. The last time they played together was in 1998 before they disbanded and headed their separate ways. Now that they seem to have their lives in order and have put their animosity for one another aside they are, according to Neil, "ready to go out and rock."
No doubt there are going to be quite a few soccer mom’s who remember the good old days when the boys wore spandex and had big hair. Now that they are playing together again, who knows what kind of fan base they will attract besides former groupies and metal heads. Welcome back, boys!
