"Take Time To Care…About Diabetes" Campaign

The FDA Office of Women’s Health has teamed up with the American Diabetes Association and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) to form the TTTC campaign to find ways to manage and cure the disease while improving the lives of people affected by diabetes.

The TTTC campaign has three key messages it is using to reach out to women. They are 1) Know the risks of diabetes, 2) If you have diabetes, know your ABCs (A1C testing for blood sugar, Blood pressure and Cholesterol), and 3) Ask your pharmacist for help. The campaign also emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise for preventing Type II diabetes.

The TTTC campaign, which was established just two years ago, has enlisted 34,000 outlets to distribute millions of TTTC materials in an effort to educate the public on the prevention of diabetes. In support of TTTC’s core messages, approximately 300 in-pharmacy clinics will offer A1C tests to women with diabetes. These pharmacies will also provide blood pressure readings and counseling services.
