Treasures of Old

Be not an unbeliever. My eyes opened and my heart listened…©Copyright 2003 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C. 120903
My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by a warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
to find treasures… new and old.

I opened the book and delved in deep,
no longer its words to keep:
revealing secrets and mysteries of old,
just as I'd been told by that voice bold.

My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by that warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
to write treasures… new and old.

At once, I picked up pen and let it flow;
thinking for me alone these treasures glowed.
But when it was done and truth sound,
He said, "It's for everyone around."

My eyes opened and my heart listened
to what I was told by His warm, bold voice;
then followed His instructions, by choice,
To share treasures… new and old.

At once, I put them in books and sent them out;
His treasures gone and spread about.
Alas, no one seemed to care, did not keep.
My heart broke and for Jesus I weep.

Yet, my eyes opened and my heart listened
To what I was told, by Him to whom I cleave;
accepted God's explanation, purely weaved,
"I never said they would believe."

—Amen
