It was confirmed Tuesday that Schaech filed for divorce Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court Monday citing irreconcilable differences. The couple released a joint statement saying, "After four years of marriage actors Johnathon Schaech and Christina Applegate have filed for divorce. The decision is mutual. We have no further comment at this time." Schaech has reportedly hired celeb divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser. Another one bites the dust.
Schaech and Applegate dated for four years before tying the knot in a small ceremony in Palm Springs on October 20, 2001. Applegate shot to fame at 16 years old playing airhead Kelly Bundy on the hit show Married…with Children. She enjoyed a two-season run with her sitcom Jesse on NBC. She has also starred in movies such as The Sweetest Things and A View From the Top. She is currently starring as Charity Hope Valentine in the Broadway show Sweet Charity.
