Tom Cruise Wins Retraction

Tom Cruise dropped a lawsuit against Michael Davis, publisher of "Bold" magazine, after Davis stated he had never seen a gay sex video featuring Cruise.
Tom Cruise dropped a $100 million defamation lawsuit against the publisher of "Bold" magazine, Michael Davis, when Davis said he does not have a videotape of Cruise engaged in a sexual act with another man. Michael Davis has issued a retraction that states he has never seen a gay sex video that features Cruise and does not know if one actually exists in exchange for Cruise dropping the lawsuit. Judge Emilie Elias ordered both parties to pay their own legal fees and barred Davis from ever making statements that might otherwise suggest that Cruise is gay. Davis has stated that he has no ill will towards Cruise, even though he offered a $500,000 reward to anyone who may have evidence that the star is, in fact, gay.

It seems as if Cruise has spent the better part of his career defending his sexuality. Although he has been married twice, there have been reports that Cruise is a homosexual. Cruise filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against "erotic wrestler" Chad Slater, earlier this year when Slater alleged he had an affair with Cruise, which caused the break up of Cruise and former wife, Nicole Kidman. Slater eventually confessed that he had never met Cruise and denied ever making remarks to the contrary, which resulted in him defaulting on the lawsuit. Cruise also sued Slater’s wife, Kristina Ann Kirstin and accused her of trying to sell a fake story, saying that Slater left her for Cruise, to the National Enquirer. The hearing for that complaint is scheduled for December 4.

Cruise was married to actress Mimi Rogers before marrying Kidman in 1990. Cruise and Kidman divorced earlier this year and share custody of their adopted children, Isabella and Connor. Cruise has been dating Vanilla Sky co-star, Penelope Cruz, since the two met on the set of the film. The Cameron Crowe directed drama is set to hit theaters on December 14.
