Divorce Court for Nicolas Cage & Lisa Marie

It’s official, now they are headed for divorce court after only 108 days of marriage. Cage filed for divorce on November 25. Presley released a statement, "I’m sad about this, but we shouldn’t have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake." Oh, luckily they found that out!

Their trip to the altar was not an easy one. The couple parted ways in February after ten months of dating, reconciled in June and married in August. Now off to divorce court. A friend of Cage’s was quoted as saying, "They spent enough time together to fall in love – and not enough time together to make it work." Cage has a history of break-up make-up type relationships. He was married to Patricia Arquette for nine months before they split up and they then spent five years acting very married, filed for divorce, reconciled and finally put the marriage out of it’s misery. Maybe this is just the beginning of Cage and Presley’s marriage, make-up, break-up, make-up, break-up…

One has to wonder if these fleeting marriages are some sort of competition between the beautiful, rich and famous. Let’s see how short-lived our marriage can be. "Hey, we beat Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd!" Are they handing out prizes these days?! Is nothing scared anymore? Seriously, maybe if those living in Hollyweird would take a little time to get to know one another before skipping down the aisle or put forth a little effort into a marriage, they might go somewhere.
