How to Find Freebies, Free Coupons and Free Samples Online and What to Expect

Find out which type's of Free offers you can find online and if there is a catch.
Since the time that a former VP "invented" the internet, free samples and other types of free giveaways have been a major part of web surfing. In actuality there has not been a superior time to look for freebies than right now, the dot com bubble notwithstanding.

Although the dot com bubble eliminated some freebies such as some free isp providers, many new free offers entered the online arena to take it's place.

As you probably already know, tracking down freebies is plenty of fun. Who doesn't just love getting various freebee's sent to them like t-shirts, stickers, Aspirin, Pet Food Samples similar free things by filling out a (generally) short survey? If you already have a website or would like one, you could find an amazing assortment of free hostings, and free webmaster tools such like downloads, RSS Generators, Fonts, clipart, Tutorials and the like just by typing in "free whatever" and what you are looking for will more often than not pop right up. But of course, there always has to be a catch.

Most of us know intuitively that you do not often get something for nothing. When you apply for a free offer you obviously have to fill out a form with your mailing information and sometimes a personal survey too. And that is where you have to pay the piper.

The ones that offer things do so in the hope that you will remember who gave it to you and thus build loyalty and awareness in that way.

They also will by definition have some of your personal data from the form and will thus have some kind of very broad profile about you.

You can expect to certainly get related offers addressed to you and it is doubtful that these will also be free.

If you apply for free samples like free dog food, you will probably receive product brochures, catalogs or some other types of promotional material concerning dogs, dog treats or dog nutrition in general. This is not as a hard and fast rule a bad thing because some freebie fanatics actually desire to be updated regarding products or services that they are interested in. It is quite often a win-win situation. But in those rare cases, you may get flooded with too much of a good thing.

This has happened to me personally, as a matter of course. I have some advice which may help you though.

Get a freebie email account from Gmail, Lycos or Hotmail or some other similar provider and use that when you fill out those freebie forms.

This will help to prevent your primary isp email address from getting flooded with enough junk mail to submerge New Orleans all over again. What about your physical address, you say? Well you do in fact by definition have to use that if you are requesting free samples.

But postal mail is not getting any cheaper and junk mail mostly comes the electronic route in this day and age. Many firms will simply not be able to afford to send you much junk via the regular postal route.
