Packing for the office

Normally, packing your stuff before you go to the office is not as difficult a task that we need to discuss. Still there are some things that we tend to overlook, while we understand that this is one routine job where we cannot go wrong.
Tips for the everyday routine
While most of us seem to know everything that there might be to get charged for a great day to the office, here are some additional pointers that one needs to consider especially so if you are a woman. Lets start with discipline. Before you get cracking on anything at all, remember that discipline comes foremost in mind should you need to prove your mettle in your organization. This would typically include your getting your clothes ready the night before, assuming that this is a Sunday. In case you’re the types that requires to cook, especially so with children, it’s a good idea to keep a menu by the side of your bed, pinned on to a soft board, and one in the kitchen. It would be ideal if the soft board had to be away from the reach of these little elves, lest all that you would ultimately get are scraps of paper, which I am sure would be of no need to you.

Next while you get everything else in line along with uniforms and polished shoes, you need to keep ready your trinkets, or whatever you fancy within your ward robe so you don’t need to hunt for these in the morning. Whatever you might want to pack in terms of the lunch you carry, make sure to keep some fruit (s) in handy, for those frustrating times that you’re running short of ideas back in the office. Moreover, fruits are always a welcome relief to the high caloric instant foods that are so easily available.

A planned start to a typical day
Once the alarm goes off and you have to leave your cosy bed, its essential that you are constantly buzzing with activity. If your hubby can chip in, well, then nothing like it, but if he’s one of those passive spectators, its essential that you are constantly in line with your next task so that he thinks ten times before interrupting you. Since you’ve got up early, this should not be difficult. Once the kids are at school and you have time to catch up on your morning coffee, you could add on a few things in your tote bag. Generally women being termed hyper, these things become essential, especially while you are a working mom and need to pamper yourself, not once in a while but most of the time, as you are as important as your family.

I normally suggest women to carry a small squeeze tube of face wash, whatever best suits them a hand towel; a small one, some moisturiser and a few cosmetics should the need arise. The reason for this is because you’re most exposed to radiations of all types especially while we all work in an air conditioning environment and also because the radiation emitted from the computers can play havoc with our skin, leaving it dry and prone to allergies. What you can do in such a scenario is dab a bit of your face wash and clean your skin, making you fresh for the day and bringing you out from your sleepy self and dab on some moisturiser and then make it a habit to drink in plenty of water while they are at the office, this way you don’t let your tissues dry up which may tend to happen with all the coffee that you consume.

While this may also mean lots of trips to the loo, it will ultimately make you active and be away from your screen from time to time, helping you save your eyes as well. Besides the cell phone charger, you would also want to keep a spare sanitary napkin, which you may place one or two in your hand bag and a few in your locker, since you never know when the need arises. Women being the emotional kind, these things might occur without prior notice. Another very important aspect are the shoes that you wear. I’d suggest that you keep a heeled pair in the office, as wearing different types of heels can help your calf muscles from sagging and keep you in an upright posture.

A pair of spectacles is another important accessory that you can keep under lock and key in the office, as there are times when memory just seems to fail you while getting late to the office. In case you have a swipe card system in your office, its best to leave it either in a place within your purse, which might be away from your immediate attention and your little one at home or in the safe lock and key in your office, whichever might be convenient.

Lastly don’t forget to keep a little spare money right within your purse in a zip locked section, for a rainy day, money that you would not spend. Keeping money in the office may be risky, so its best you keep in your custody. There are many women who like me keep some amount every month and forget and one fine you can possibly treat yourself with that expensive facial that you longed for. In conclusion its all about planning your day in the worst situation possible, and if your short term memory is long like mine, its best to write things down, as a visual aid always helps in making you remember things that you might feel you can retain, but cannot at the time you need to!
