All about Blackheads and White Heads

If you thought only colored people might have these to identify them from a crowd, think again.
Blackheads and whiteheads
Blackhead generally associated with oily skin can be kept at bay rather simply. All you really need to do is look for an oily-free and non-clogging formula, not only in skin care products, but even where make-up and sun products are concerned. Please resist the temptation to disguise blemishes with heavy make-up - stick to oil-free, oil-absorbing foundation.

Some Basics in Skin Care
The T- Zone: The Oily skin can be checked with proper exfoliation, which keeps the pores clear and unclogged. However, if you have a shiny T-Zone, (detected best in the morning, once you get out of your bed) use a face mask to de-shine. Alternatively, blot excess oil with a tissue before touching up with powder.

Wrinkles surface first around the eyes and mouth and are signs that the skin lacks hydration. You can put a hold on them by keeping your skin protected from excessive exposure to sun and using a wrinkle-control formula. Though the sun gives us vitamin D, which is great for the complexion, going out in the sun without proper protection is an open invitation for wrinkles in the long run. It can even lead to melanoma (skin cancer), although this is at a really critical stage.

Use a sunscreen over the face and body before you expose yourself to the rays of the sun. Don't skip the routine when the sky is overcast, for haze and clouds don't block those damaging UV rays. Wear sunglasses with UV protection and make sure your sunscreens stay put. As far as possible make it a habit to drink warm water mixed with lemon juice to avoid the occurrences of black heads. Another reason for blackheads to occur would be due to blotchiness.

Blotchiness is again another side effect caused by taking in too much sun. Prevent it with daily sunscreen of at least SPF 15 and regular exfoliation (with masks, scrubs and lotions). To conceal blotchiness, apply foundation and loose face powder to integrate the skin tone. The stickiness occurring on your skin thanks to the sun allows a lot of sebum to percolate on your skin and this develops as either acne, blackhead or even white head. Whiteheads are generally removed at the time of a facial. But you would really not agree on that, because most of them might not get removed anyways. Your safest bet would be to drink at least 2 liters of water to keep most of these situations at bay.

Never exfoliate your skin too much especially when it is sun-burnt and in the red, sore, tender stage. Wait until all redness disappears before resuming exfoliation. If you are using a prescription skin-peeling drug for acne or sun damage, ask your doctor if addition exfoliation is advisable. Skin of this sort is susceptible for blemishes, of all kinds. Black heads are extremely difficult to get rid of, when these develop, in the warmest of places in your body.

You inner thighs are one such are that are a breeding ground for both black as well as whiteheads. You may have noticed the color of the skin there, which if really dark thank to the friction of your legs, has to be treated with the mildest of Retino A compositions, in a mixture of moisturizers. You may be able to squeeze the blackheads out, but there are many white heads that you cannot really see with your naked eye. This especially happens when you sweat a lot.

Then there are conditions where you have broken capillaries or spider veins: These are tiny dilated blood vessels or capillaries, usually visible on the face and legs. Exposure to the sun, wind, spicy food, alcoholic drinks and temperature extremes can aggravate the problem. It ultimately all starts wit a blackhead and progresses to allergies. Besides the above-mentioned problems, the skin undergoes a change during menopause, too. It becomes much drier and you should use a mild soap to clean it gently.
