Stomach balloon therapy and weight loss

Which is better diet pills or Stomach balloon therapy for weight loss?
A new weight loss therapy is on the cards. A team of Canadian doctors are experimenting with a non-surgical method of weight loss which according to them will help to make the stomach to take less food inside. The best part about this technique is that it doesn't involve physically making the stomach smaller as with the gastric bypass surgery. In this process, the filling of the stomach is done with a balloon.

All of us are hoping that the balloon technique works for all those suffering from obesity. At this moment, the only surgical option available is gastric bypass surgery. In this process, the stomach is cut to make it smaller or bands are applied to temporarily decrease its size. But the saddest part is that these operations require the patient to be put under general anesthetic and the waiting list can stretch as long as seven years. So it’s not applicable to those who want weight loss to happen immediately.

So the medical fraternity is hoping that the balloon method will be a faster and less invasive option for millions of people suffering from obesity. This technique involves the insertion of a deflated balloon down the throat and afterwards it's inflated. The best part about this procedure is that the entire procedure requires just a mild sedative and takes about 15 minutes. This procedure serves as a manner of controlling the eating of people. Once the balloon is inserted, you cannot eat more than three or four handfuls of food. Experts are saying that this method will be more useful than diet pills.

This latest procedure of weight loss has shown few side effects such as temporary nausea and vomiting in some patients. The best part is that the balloon can be removed easily whenever a patient chooses. This is not a cosmetic intervention and the procedure is not meant for those who'd like to lose just 20 pounds or so. This technique is meant for those types of patients who is 100 to 200 pounds overweight or who is trying to get a healthy state of life.
