The world outside my tower
I was depressed...
I watch from my Tower
At the people in the world I gaze
The way they walk, the way they talk
At all their peculiar ways
I observe the man in the alley
The corrupt business that supports him
His clients are sad people
Junkies at his whim
I stare at the woman in the window
Hers is beauty outstanding
My eyes go wide, I hurt inside
As she leaps from the apartment landing
I examine the man in the cubicle
As he runs through his daily tasks
I cannot help but feel sorry for him
For love is all he asks
My eyes meet the face of a high school girl
Who’s popularity spreads far and wide
The shape of her body, the elegance of her face
Cannot hide the ugliness inside
My gaze averts to the Oval
And to a boy that sits alone
He hates the school, the people too
But does not want to go home
I spy on the Horizon
A tower not unlike my own
And the person inside cannot hide
From the misery the people have sewn
I survey all of my surroundings
And feel the wretchedness in the air
I think from now on I’ll stay in my tower
At least people won’t be there
At the people in the world I gaze
The way they walk, the way they talk
At all their peculiar ways
I observe the man in the alley
The corrupt business that supports him
His clients are sad people
Junkies at his whim
I stare at the woman in the window
Hers is beauty outstanding
My eyes go wide, I hurt inside
As she leaps from the apartment landing
I examine the man in the cubicle
As he runs through his daily tasks
I cannot help but feel sorry for him
For love is all he asks
